Diana Agabeg Apcar

Diana Agabeg Apcar was an Armenian writer, diplomat, and humanitarian. She was a prominent figure in the Armenian diaspora and is best known for her efforts in aiding Armenian refugees during and after the Armenian Genocide. Apcar moved to Japan in the late 19th century, where she became an influential member of the Armenian community. She authored numerous books and articles advocating for Armenian independence and raising awareness about the plight of Armenians. In 1920, she was appointed as the Honorary Consul of the First Republic of Armenia to Japan, making her one of the first female diplomats in modern history. Her work in diplomacy and humanitarianism left a lasting impact on the Armenian community and the broader international community.
